Looking for Doula Support?

Prenatal & Birth

Whether delivering at home, a birth center, or in the hospital, having a doula as part of your care team can yield many benefits (including a more positive birth experience, lower rates of Cesarean and Pitocin use, reduced use of pain medication, and shorter labor). A woman’s memories of her birth last a lifetime and carry great meaning. I am committed to helping you feel connected and supported as you find options that are right for you.

During our time together, we'll discover what's important to you when you visualize your birth and first weeks with your baby. We may prepare questions to prompt discussions with your care provider, or I might share reliable resources and options for relief in pregnancy. Coming alongside you as you find your rhythm in labor, I will draw on my experience to provide comfort techniques and support your communication with medical staff to promote informed choices. I can provide a break for your partner, reassurance as labor progresses, and help to create a calming space.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • phone, text and email support

  • 2 prenatal visits for birth and postpartum preparation and planning

  • on-call availability starting at 38 weeks

Postpartum Support

The postpartum period should be protected, honored - an important time to slow down and acknowledge the full experience of becoming a parent. I support the new mother’s healing and promote bonding in the family as you navigate this special season following the birth of your baby - they're tiny, but need a huge amount of care! What each family needs is completely unique, so we can discuss what would best serve your family. What would give you a bit more rest, peace or confidence? A doula's assistance in easing this transition may be especially helpful if your partner has limited leave from work or family/friends are not readily available.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

My postpartum assistance may include help with newborn care and soothing, basic breastfeeding, sibling help, safe sleep, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, emotional support, household organization, or running errands. During an overnight shift, I can provide care for your baby so that you can get more sleep and, if desired, will bring the baby to you to breastfeed. We can work together to discover your preferences and concerns as you and your newborn get to know each other.

My base package includes a consultation and 16 hours of care ($640). Day shifts are in increments of 4 hours or more. Overnight shifts are 8-10 hours. We can discuss what hours and frequency would best suit your needs and build a package together.
